1. Human Resource Management is the primary function of and the responsibility of line supervisors and managers who are responsible for planning, organizing, directing, controlling and coordinating the works of their subordinates to attain the desired objectives.

This definition states that the persons on the higher rank in an organization are accountable in managing the labor of each employee to reach their goals and maintain the stability of their organization.

2. Human Resource Management represents the total human resource picture in an organization. It aptly refers to the “philosophy, policies, procedures, and practices related to the management of people within an organization” to ultimately achieve its organizational objectives.

The definition above affirms that HRM is composed of principles that are useful in managing the persons within an organization.

3. Personnel management is concerned with the effective use of the skills of people. They may be salespeople in a store, clerks in an office, operators in a factory, or technicians in a research laboratory. In a business, personnel management starts with the recruiting and hiring of qualified people and continues with directing and encouraging their growth as they encounter problems and tensions that arise in working toward established goals.

The definition states that Personnel Management is responsible for developing the skills and boosting the self-competence of the people.

4. Personnel Management deals with the effective utilization of human resources and improvement of their efficiency and effectiveness.

I agree with this definition because an organization will function properly and improve efficiently if their human resources are given with the appropriate attention, benefits, and maintenance.

5. Within organizations that employ people, Personnel Management is the function with policy responsibility for the selection and recruitment of staff, training, performance assessment, career development, disciplinary proceedings, pre-retirement advisory work, equal opportunities policies, pay bargaining, and industrial relations.

My group mates and I were so lucky yesterday because we were given the chance to interview the HR manager of our adopted company(Pag-IBIG Fund). Mrs. Laarni Lobo is the HR manager of the Pag-Ibig Fund. All she knew was we would just conduct a "short" interview regarding of our major paper. She wasn't really aware that we'll ask her about our assignment. I thought she'll get mad because we didn't tell her about it earlier. hahaha. We asked her about her concept on nature, scope and role of human resource management and if it's similar to their management's concept. At first, she was really speechless, but later on the question had been answered. She forthrightly stated that Human Resource is the vital force of a company because it is the important factor that makes a company works. Human Resource Management is accountable for enhancing the performance of an employee and increasing their self-confidence and self-esteem. Their company is aiming for excellence and professionalizing its employees so that they can satisfy the needs of their clients. Her concepts and the concepts of their organization were more or less the same...So, I think there were no differences to be settled..hihihi..=)

I definitely agree of what she said because I am certain that human resource is the basic yet the important piece that completes an organization. It should be handled carefully and be given an appropriate treatment. Through this, an organization will successfully reach its goals..

On the second day of the documentation, we continued making the introduction, significance and objectives of our major paper... We also created and designed the screen shots of our information system so that our proposal could be easily understood..We used the Microsoft Visual Foxpro 9.0 in making the screen shots..=)

September 24, 2008, Wednesday

It was the scheduled day for our first consultation with Sir Gamboa... and we were not yet with the documentation.... T_T We looked for vacant rooms in the eng'g bldg but sadly, there were none... hahay.. We ended up at the corridor near at the 2nd floor's CR...hahahaha..wawa... Febe and I were taking a picture of Leah(one of my group mates)... Suddenly, we saw sir Gamboa going down the stairways....When he recognized us, he went back toward us...hahaha..He wanted pala to join with our picture taking..hahahaha..si sir jud bah..hahahaha..We told him about our consultation and he said, "ugma nlng pra sure2.." towenkz...

September 25, 2008, Thursday

After our Prog2 class, we went right away to sir Gamboa's office to have our consultation with him..hehehe..He corrected our major paper and told us about the things that were needed to be added on our documentation...He also required us the counter sign of the HR manager of our company...T_T After the consultation, We asked permission to Mrs. Laarni Lobo(HRMO II of Pag-IBIG Fund) if we could conduct a "short" interview with her... At first, she wanted to reject our request because she was so busy..But later on she agreed..yehey!hehehe... We went to her office and conducted the interview...We showed to her the screen shots of our proposal and she passed it to their programmer...Their programmer had just agreed on our screen shots...yehey!!!We asked Ma'am Laarni several questions and after this, we inserted our HRM's assignment no. 8 and asked her about it.. She was stunned because she didn't expect it and wasn't prepared to answer our assignment's questions...She paused for a while and said, "Kayo tlga ha..sabi nyo short interview lng ha.." hahahaha..We just smiled and pleaded with her to answer it...hihihi...Few seconds passed and later on she answered the questions..hihihi..Lastly, she had a counter sign on our major paper..yehey!!!=)

In our gantt, we were supposed to start the making of the documentation of our major paper on September 14.. But we failed to follow the scheduled work because we were busy on that week and I and my group mates went to our respective home towns...='(

September 22, 2008, Monday

Early morning, we planned to start the documentation of our major paper after my group mates' class(OR)... Their class would end at 2pm.. So I just waited for them inside our apartment until their class ended.. Around 1pm, I heard my group mates shouting outside the window, "nat, baha na kaau sa sulod, dli nami kasulod sa apartment, kaw nlng gawas.." The didn't have a class..I was really surprised when I saw the water outside our apartment..baha na jud kaau..huhuhuhu..The water pump outside had leaked and the plumbers were not yet done fixing it.. The water had been flowing inside our compound.. I didn't really know what to do.. How can I get outside????huhuhuhu.. Fortunately, there were woods inside our compound that were supposed to use in repairing some apartments.. One of our neighbors used it as a passage so people can get outside of the compound... hooooo... It was my turn to cross on the woods... It was really scary and difficult too because I was carrying my heavy laptop... And there was another obstacle...A motorcycle was also blocking the way...uuugggghhh!!!!I was starting to feel the water on my feet..huhuhuhu...Despite of all the obstacles, I was still blessed because I was able to get outside the drowning compound..hahahahaha..

After the survival, we went to the grocery to buy foods so that we have something to eat when our stomachs growl while working..hahahaha...We used a cart instead of just a basket and put the laptop in it..hahahaha...Some photos taken inside the grocery were in my slideshow below..hehehe.. It was strickly prohibited to take pictures inside... We saw the sign board, "NO PICTURE TAKING ALLOWED INSIDE"...We just noticed it when we were about to pay over the counter..hahahaha..I was also abled to take a picture of the signboard..but it was kinda uncleared because I ran immediately when the guard saw me..hahahaha...We were so nervous because we thought he would gonna accompany us in the security service office..hahahahaha..hoooo....kulba!!!!

We went directly in school and looked for a vacant room in the eng'g building... We found one and we started making the documentation...After an hour, some 4th year ECE students suddenly got inside the room and they said they will be having a class... We were shocked and we immediately fixed our things...We decided to transfer and went to fifth floor.. Luckily, we found a vacant room and we continued making our documentation...hehehehe...

When we were running out of ideas, our "kulitan" started..hahahaha.. We ate our foods.. We took pictures til' we could.. Me and Pibi also washed our feet in the lavatory(yuckz)..hahahaha..That day was full of laughters and fun!whew!!!=)
